The Nauset lighthouse was a must for my shooting list. Located on Cape Cod in Massachusetts, it was among several on my grand tour sweep of the Cape one year.
The light has an interesting history which you can discover on the website of the Nauset Light Preservation Society.

One of two sister lights in Chatham, the Nauset was renamed after it’s move to Eastham in 1923. Since that time, the light has been moved inland in it’s constant retreat from the sea due to coastal erosion.
You can visit the light on Cape Cod’s National Seashore. You might also catch it on the roadway above the bumper of the car in front of you. In 1996 Massachusetts featured the lighthouse on motor vehicle plates.
Do you hunger for more? Pick up a bag of Cape Cod potato chips. The lighthouse beacon adorns the package alerting you to the tasty treat you’re about to encounter inside.
