Is it one’s destiny to choose a life without adventure to feel secure? I think not.
Adventure need not be required on a daily basis, and doesn’t require jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. Perhaps just stepping outside your comfort zone by sampling a new dish, traveling away from home for a weekend, or learning to ride a bicycle will suffice.
Security and familiarity never feels better to me than after a time away, when I can sit quietly with a cup of tea and watch the sun set from a familiar chair. I appreciate security more after savoring a bit of life outside the norm.
Ships are built to venture out of sight of land, but not remain there. They may return to the safety of port as well.
