We wore puffer jackets in the morning, and hats. A group of men in their 20’s opened and closed car doors gathering packs and poles, boots and food. I walked to the overlook to watch summer slip away with the low hanging clouds. Perfect hiking weather, but still I was wistful for the days of shirtsleeves and shorts that would soon be gone.
