The coast of Watch Hill meets the Atlantic by way of Block Island Sound. The shoals and seas claimed many ships along this stretch of New England coastline before lighthouses and modern navigation gave mariners the tools to navigate them safely. My visit to where the land meets water was to capture an image of the lighthouse, but opportunity and the sea had other plans.
