The Last Leaf

“Of Days Gone By”

On a crisp November day, Jack walked the distance from the road to the rails. The last of the leaves were falling from the trees, and the sun would set early now that Autumn had arrived. The engine sat alone on the tracks. Jack put the camera to his eye and pressed the shutter button. The dry leaves scurried away with a gust of wind at his back. He pulled his collar up to ward off the chill, and made his way back to the car.

Note: The above image is a composite of two separate captures. The tracks in the original photograph were empty. The locomotive has been added, stretched and corrected to match the landscape perspective and align with the tracks. The fading sunset has been added for effect.
