Happiness

Daily writing prompt
When are you most happy?

I’m sure if you perform a web search for happiness, you’ll come up with several iterations as what is stated here, having myself searched for the key long ago, only to realize a simple truth.

Happiness is a choice, not a result, or a goal you strive to reach.

I can’t buy it, with gifts or treats for myself, nor can anyone else make me happy.

I don’t plan to be happy later, after I close a deal, or change jobs, go on vacation, or buy a new car. I know that more things don’t make me happy. In fact, they complicate my life.

I choose instead to find happiness every day, even on challenging ones, and appreciate what I have now and who I am, grateful for tomorrow’s opportunity to enjoy life.
