
I pass by the wreck often. The history is murky. She came ashore in the 70’s. The wooden cruiser is broken in two, the hull sections 50 yards apart. How she wrecked is unknown to me. The boat’s engine is farther down the beach below the water’s edge.
Some days, particularly after a storm, her bones are more visible. The urge to dig her up is strong.
It’s better to let them lie where they are, home to the creatures and plants in the sand and sea which will eventually claim her completely.
