I live on Earth, along with every other human in existence. I love it’s amazing and diverse plant and animal life, its topography, the range of seasons. It is the only place that I can live. No other planet can naturally support the life of humans.
Perhaps we’ve forgotten that last, most important sentence. If we continue to use our home as a dumping ground, as a well of unlimited resource, (which it is not) we will no longer have a home for future generations to experience the same beauty of landscape and life that many of us have been so fortunate to enjoy in our lifetimes.
As I grow older, I see how I’ve been wasteful and many of my habits have impacted my own small habitat on this amazing place we all call home. I’ve made changes to my habits and consider my actions on maintaining my home more. Our time here is finite. The Earth will be here long after I have gone, but how I treat it while I live here matters.
