The Favorites List

Daily writing prompt
Do you have a favorite place you have visited? Where is it?

It would be impossible to name a single place in the world that would be my favorite. Do you have a favorite child? I’ve been lucky to have the opportunity to see some lovely corners of the world. These are some of the places I’d return to without hesitation:

Paris

Two cyclists stand on a bridge overlooking the Seine river in Paris, France. The Eiffel Tower can be seen in the background.

The city has a certain “je ne sais quoi” as we might say, in trying to describe Paris’ allure. As a tourist, I love walking through it’s parks and wide boulevards, along the river or sitting outdoors for an unhurried meal. As Rick Blaine would say, “we’ll always have Paris”

Hawaii

Outriggers on a beach in Hawaii

Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, islands that are distinctly different from one another. If I win the lottery this would be where you might find me, but if I did win the lottery, you would never find me…

Ireland

A view of divided plots of land, separated by stone walls and hedgerows in the irish countryside. The fields are a lush green, and the sky blue with whispy clouds

The landscape in the country is a sight to behold, and the people are charming and engaging, while sporting a wit that only the Irish can.

New Zealand or Australia

I visited long ago, and could easily go back to these beautiful places. Many are blind to the beauty that lies below the equator line. Go and see!

It’s a big country folks, and yours to explore.

I must stop now, but there’s so many that I have not listed, nor could I ever pick just one, never mind the destinations still on the bucket list. Perhaps I have not yet discovered my favorite! There’s still time to search for more…let’s GO.
